Zane Saba grew up in the Wairarapa and his passion for food has now extended to the Chef on Demand catering business. Zane's philosophy is to offer fantastic, fresh, great tasting food which utilises the best produce the Wairarapa has to offer.
Zane's talent and flair for food has been recognised with awards from the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence. He has featured in Cusine Magazine and most recently on TV3's The Kitchen Job. Zane featured as the consultant chef bought in to help the struggling owners of Wakelin House Restaurant in Greytown. After four years in the hospitality industry in London, Zane returned and bought Fords Cafe in Wellington. Five years later the business was sold and after a stint at Boomrock Lodge (www.boomrock.co.nz) Zane and his family moved back to his hometown of Masterton.
Since his return to the Wairarapa, Zane has worked at The Vines in Martinborough, was Head Chef at Cafe Cecille in Masterton's Queen Elizabeth Park for five years and most recently was at Gladstone Vineyard.
